The power of creativity…
We’re living in an increasingly technological world, which definitely has its benefits (here I am being able to share what I offer on my website). However, research shows how important creativity is for our wellbeing. Scrolling, spending all day on our computers at work, gaming etc give us a less healthy spike of dopamine. However, creating and making something from scratch gives us that much needed hormone release in a much healthier way. There are many ways to be creative, whether it’s pottering in your garden or singing at the top of your voice along to your favourite music. At Create and Connect I give you the chance to boost your health through art and craft. The focus is not only on what you make but enjoying the process of making in the moment. Below you can find out about just some of the benefits of a 1:1 or group session.
-
Somewhere to breathe, be heard- not just listened to, free of judgement. Sessions are run with an ethos of respect and confidence.
-
Use creativity to express yourself and learn new skills. Enjoy the sensory element of using different materials and build confidence by unlocking your creative potential. There is no right or wrong with creativity which gives us a freedom we don’t often find in life.
-
Sessions will allow you to connect with not only others but yourself. To allow you to feel heard, understood and, importantly, not alone. This might be during 1:1 sessions or groups.
-
It’s often much easier to express ourselves through art than through words and by keeping our hands busy it’s often easier to talk. If we don’t feel like talking, creativity helps us to slow down and process our thoughts and internal dialogue much more easily.
We use a variety of physical and tactile art-based activities, to help support wellbeing.
People with little or no creative experience can fully immerse themselves to increase self-awareness, the inner you!
-
I am guided by you. I will not give advice but provide you with tools to make your own decisions on the path which is right for you. If something does not feel right or a particular tool or approach is not working for you, you are free to explore another without judgement.

Feedback and Reviews
Art Commission Customer
“I highly recommend Fiona. She recently commissioned a retirement gift with illustrated buildings etc. Fiona was excellent to work with, kept me up to date along the way with drafts and was super reasonably priced.”
Adult Group Member
“This group has been a sanctuary.”
After School Group Member
“I like coming to your clubs because it helps me forget anything hard that’s happened that week. I’ve also learnt to draw people better.”
Adult online group member
“I attended Fiona's online sessions for adults, and they’ve been such a positive experience. Each week offered a variety of creative activities like painting, doodling, mindful crafts, all designed to encourage self-expression rather than artistic skill. For me, the classes became a way to unwind and create out a pause in the week that was just for me. Even though the sessions were online, the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and judgment-free, making it easy to explore creatively without worrying. You can share your work with the group if you’d like, or simply enjoy the process for yourself. The materials provided were thoughtful and the option of an in-person final session was a lovely extra. I always finished each session feeling inspired and more connected to myself. I’d highly recommend these sessions to anyone looking for a creative way to support their wellbeing.”
Adult Online Group Member
“This group makes me create more now. My child sees me drawing and painting and I’ve noticed that they also create more often now.”
After School Group Member
“I love making my own art gallery in my bedroom at home from all my creations in our classes.”
